Seal Maker — Machined Flexible Seals

Transeals stock Western Australia's most comprehensive inventory of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder seals. If the seals you require cannot be supplied ex-stock, Transeals will manufacture seals on site using either our advanced CNC Seal Maker or via traditional systems.

Seal Maker is an advanced CAD/CAM/CNC controlled system for the custom manufacture of seals from rubber, plastic and PTFE materials. The Seal Maker system enables Transeals to manufacture standard profile seals to a large range of sizes, efficiently from standard materials.

Special designs and materials are also available at short lead times. New materials and ongoing software and machine development programs ensure that Seal Maker products keep up-to-date with the constantly evolving requirements of Transeals customers.

Most Seal Maker profiles can be manufactured to sizes from 10mm to 580mm, in-house, the same day at Transeals. Larger sizes up to 2000mm can be produced with longer lead times. To order Seal Maker seals from Transeals, we simply need to know, the profile, groove dimensions and type of fluid/service. Alternatively Transeals can match to your sample seals, or measure your components for you.

Materials Available

NBR Rubber 85°a Black (Nitrile or Buna N)
Material Code: R85N

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
• Maximum service temperature in water: 70°C
Used by itself or in combination with our other outstanding polymers, R85N is ideally suited for the manufacture of all sealing components used in the hydraulic and pneumatic industry.

HNBR Rubber 85°a Black (Hydrogenated Nitrile)
Material Code: R85H

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
• Maximum service temperature in water: 110°C
Similar to R85N, R85H provides broader thermal and chemical resistance.

EPDM Rubber 85°a Black (EPM, EPR)
Material Code: R85E

• Maximum service temperature in water: 150°C
Incompatible with mineral oils, R85E is resistant to many fluids that are incompatible with other elastomers, including steam and brake fluid.

Viton Rubber 85°a Brown (Fluorocarbon, FKM, FPM)
Material Code: R85V

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 225°C
R85V's outstanding chemical compatibility, low compression set and broad temperature range, coupled with its ability to resist extrusion, tearing and wear, makes this a significant compound, utilised to produce premium performance seals.

Silicone Rubber 85°a FDA Red
Material Code: R85S

• Maximum service temperature: 232°C
R85S has many uses in the chemical industry and is FDA approved for use in the food industry. Silicones have poor wear, tear and tensile properties.

Polyurethane 95°a Red
Material Code: U95R

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
• Maximum service temperature in water: 70°C
Transeals' most popular grade of polyurethane, used to produce single acting seals, rod wipers and heavy duty double acting seals. Formulated for low compression set and superior resistance to abrasion and tearing.

Polyurethane 95°a Lubed Grey
Material Code: U95L

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
Uniquely internally lubricated with molybdenum disulphide to alleviate the anomally known as stick/slip associated with friction.

Polyurethane 95°a FDA Natural
Material Code: U95N

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
• Maximum service temperature in water: 70°C
With all the outstanding properties of our U95R, this compound is FDA approved for use in the food industry.

Polyurethane 54°d Blue
Material Code: U54D

• Maximum service temperature in mineral oil: 105°C
• Maximum service temperature in water: 70°
The preferred polyurethane for energised seal rings and back up washers, U54B is physically harder than U95R and is specifically formulated to give superior performance in this type of application.

PTFE Molybdenum Disulphide & Glass Filled Grey
Material Code: TM

• Maximum service temperature: 260°C
Compounded specifically for hydraulic seal applications, the fillers enhance TM's ability to resist "cold flow" and wear. This blend is extremely popular with OEM manufacturers. Used to manufacture energised wipers, backup rings, single and double acting seals.

PTFE Glass Gilled Gold
Material Code: TG

• Maximum service temperature: 260°C
An extremely wear resistant material makes it suitable for all applications except rotary. Used widely in the US by many OEM manufacturers.

PTFE Bronse Filled
Material Code: TB

• Maximum service temperature: 260°C
Possibly the most versatile filled PTFE, possessing high performance whilst being less abrasive on mating surfaces than many other filled PTFE materials.

PTFE Carbon Fibre & PPS Filled
Material Code: TP

• Maximum service temperature: 260°C
The ultimate PTFE blend for the most arduous applications. No other material offers the chemical, thermal and mechanical properties that this compound exhibits in severe applications.

PTFE Virgin White (Teflon, Polytetrafluoroethylene)
Material Code: TV

•Maximum service temperature: 260°C
Outstanding chemical resistance and the lowest friction coefficient of any material ensures that TV is an indispensable material in many applications.

Nylon 6 White
Material Code: NW

• Maximum service temperature: 120°C
A hard bearing material with a high load carrying capacity, excellent resistance to impact and low sliding friction. Suitable for wear rings and extrusion devices.

Nylon 6 Black
Material Code: NB

• Maximum service temperature: 130°C
Similar to NW, NB has an increased service temperature and can be used when black is preferred for cosmetic reasons.

Delrin White (POM)
Material Code: DW

• Maximum service temperature of 130°C
Excellent dimensional properties and its low moisture absorption makes Delrin the material for hard, high precision parts. Suitable for wear wings and anti-extrusion devices. Reccomended for use in water!
